Flora moves in the 470 and is part of the Olympic Training Group

After a great summer in the 420 I have now moved into a 470 with Anna Burnet. We were invited to an induction day into the Olympic Development Squad, which was a real insight into the programme, and also what it takes to get to the top. We had our first event in the 470 after only been sailing the new boat for a couple of hours. It was very exciting when we were neck and neck with Olympic Champions. We couldn’t hold onto are position, but the coaches were very impressed. Plenty to work on, but also a lot of positives. We have now been invited into the Olympic Training Group, which train alongside the Olympic Development Squad. This is the next stage from Youth sailing, and where we will progress onto the Olympic Transitional squad and through the system.

I am now studying at Bath University and my timetable looks great so I will be able to fit my sporting commitments into it.  The facilities here are fantastic so I will be making the most amount of use that I can out of them.
