2 World Cup done and preparation for Sail for Gold

April has been a very busy month. Sailing has occurred in Palma (Spain) and Hyeres (France) at World Cup events. This means we haven’t been out in the cold waters of England. But we have successful manage to get a lot of hours on the water. It has been a very steep learning curve, but one which is very exciting. We were performing with the best in the world, so it was a bit daunting at first, but we quickly showed them what we were made of when the wind picked up.

We have been fortunate enough to receive expert coaching from Gerald Owens who has represented Ireland at the past two Olympic Games. He brings a new insight into the way we sail. We are currently having a couple of weekends off due to exams for Anna, but Sail for Gold will be quickly upon us. This is a World Cup event help at the Olympic Venue for 2012, which is Weymouth. As this event is on home water it should be an exciting time.

After Sail for Gold, we will be competing in the Junior Worlds in the Netherlands and the Junior Europeans in Belgium.
