Flora was born in London in 1992, but is proud to be Scottish. Her family returned to Scotland in 2000 and since then they have lived in Edinburgh.

Flora has been a pupil at Fettes College Edinburgh from 2000 to 2010. She is now studying Sports Performance at the University of Bath.

Flora spends most weekends travelling down south to the Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy – site for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Flora has always enjoyed sport  - swimming, lacrosse and hockey. Sailing has always been a great love.  Flora started sailing Toppers when she was 11 at the Solway Yacht Club, Kippford in the South West of Scotland. She achieved success in the Topper Class before moving into a double -handed – 420. Flora and her sailing partner Anna Burnet from Helensburgh  and were UK Ladies National Champions. Flora was previously a member of the Scottish and Great Britain 420 sailing squad and represented Great Britain at the both the European and World Championships. She is currently UK Masters Champion.

Flora now represents Great Britain in the 470 Olympic Class and will compete  again on the international stage this year
